COUNSELING

MY APPROACH

My therapeutic style is relational, warm, and collaborative. I am passionate about working in a playful, interactive way with children to learn about who they are. I am honored to work with those looking for change - in family interactions, in parenting, and with helping a child understand their own thoughts, behaviors, and patterns. In working alongside the child’s caregivers, I align insight with action to find concrete, yet mindful ways to create lasting change.

I strongly believe in Alfred Adler’s theory, that we all want to feel a sense of belonging and purpose. The interventions I use are evidence based and include current research on neurobiology, attachment, mindfulness and the mind body connection, to name a few. I am often in awe of human resiliency and the ability for change. This awe and belief in human courage guides my work.

CHILDREN/TEENS

I work with children (ages ten and up) going through challenges with the following (including, but not limited to): adoption, anxiety, attention/focus, behavior, depression, emotional regulation, family separation/divorce, friendship, grief, challenges with learning, LGBTQ+, siblings, social skills, and trauma.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS

I am happy to meet with parents or guardians to do Parent Coaching. In a nutshell, parent coaching is a professional relationship focused on helping you become the parent you want to be. Maybe you want to feel less stressed, more confident or relate to your kids in a different way. Parenting coaching is:

  • Generally short term

  • Solution oriented

  • Assists with accountability in sticking to parenting goals

  • Open to anyone who is caring for a child or children. That means, parents, foster parents, grandparents, married, co-parenting or single parents. You may attend alone, or you may attend with another adult who cares for your children.
